Darrin Cohen is an accomplished tennis professional with a rich background in both playing and coaching. Growing up in Lafayette, Darrin began playing tennis at the age of four and quickly rose to become a top 5 ranked junior in Northern California in every age group. He earned a tennis scholarship to the University of Virginia, where he was ranked as high as 11th in the NCAA rankings. After college, Darrin competed on the professional tour, achieving a world ranking of 750 in doubles. Transitioning to coaching, he won an Atlantic 10 conference title as the assistant women's coach at Temple University in Philadelphia. Now serving as the Director of Tennis at Sleepy Hollow Swim and Tennis Club, Darrin brings his extensive experience and passion for the sport to help make Sleepy Hollow one of the premier tennis destinations in the Bay Area. This is Darrin's fourth club as Director of Tennis, and he is dedicated to sharing his expertise and fostering a vibrant tennis community.
Jim played his junior tennis in Ontario, eventually ending his intercollegiate career playing for the University of Nevada, Reno. During summer breaks from college he was a director at the Tennis at Mills program at Mills College in Oakland, which led to his position as the Director of Tennis at the Claremont Resort in Oakland. For 27 years he operated the pro shop and provided lessons and services from beginners to world famous celebrities. Most recently Jim was the Director of Junior Tennis for the USTA Northern California and through his efforts NorCal became a leader across the country in creative programming.
In 2015, Jim was appointed Chairman of the USTA NorCal 10 & Under Committee.
CC Schwab is an accomplished athlete and coach originally from San Diego. She began playing tennis at the age of 5 and quickly distinguished herself as one of the top juniors in Southern California, achieving a ranking as high as #3. Aside from tennis, CC also competed at the national level in volleyball and soccer. CC went to Torrey Pines High School, where she captained the girls’ varsity tennis team, leading them to their 25th consecutive San Diego Section CIF Team Championship and also winning the CIF Individual Doubles title. In high school, she started coaching by giving private lessons to clients and volunteering with Aceing Autism. CC then attended Claremont McKenna College and was on the tennis team that has won multiple NCAA DIII National Championships. CC ultimately shifted focus to her studies in economics and psychology, stepping away from tennis for a few years. After a stint in management consulting, CC has enthusiastically returned to tennis as a coach and player. She most recently spent time in Orlando, Florida for a coaching fellowship at the USTA National Campus, where she got to work alongside some of the top coaches in the country and simultaneously earned her Professional Tennis Registry level 2 certification. CC is excited to be back home in Lafayette, where she lives with her husband (Sanket) and their dog (Cali), and she is thrilled to join Sleepy Hollow as the new Head Tennis Professional.
